Resurrection Cemetery - Clinton Township, Michigan
With cremation representing and important part of Resurrection Cemetery’s regular functions, Mekus Tanager worked with Resurrection Cemetery to design and create a Cremation Garden within the existing Mausoleum of Saints.
Designed to add a variety of cremation inventory, offer a variety of different environs including hard-scaped and more natural areas, and visually complement the existing mausoleum, the Cremation Garden is visually anchored by a feature area consisting of an ossuarium and columbaria. A new entrance sidewalk leads you to the feature area, and also connects the Cremation Garden to the existing mausoleum’s walkways. Nearer the mausoleum buildings, beautifully landscaped garden beds were added which will offer meandering walkways for guests, a variety of cremation estate inventory, benches to rest and reflect, as well as a columbaria tucked between the mature pine trees.
The project has been very well received by the cemetery as well as the local community.
