Project Description

Mekus Tanager was part of a team that created a master plan for the 22-acre expansion of Rock Island National Cemetery. This project was intended to support a ten year projection of burial needs and included: lawn crypts, columbarium niches, roads and utilities, the renovation of the administration and public information building, a new public information / rest room building, and a new committal shelter.

For the project Mekus Tanager renovated and designed an addition to the administration building to house the maintenance offices, locker rooms, employee lounge, and a new main conference room. Mekus Tanager also designed an addition to the maintenance building, providing additional vehicle storage and materials bays, and designed the new committal shelter and public information / rest rooms building.
