Influence of Design: S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery

on .

In coordination with Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Joliet and Cold Spring Granite Company, Mekus Tanager assisted S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Naperville, Illinois with the design of the Mausoleum of the Holy Apostles, a new garden crypt and niche complex with an outdoor committal shelter.

Being an older historic cemetery where ground burial inventory was in short supply, the project used reclaimed land from a former spoils area to increase Phase 1 burial inventory by 310 above-ground crypts and 582 cremation niches.  Furthermore, the master plan was designed in phases, allowing the cemetery to expand inventory for future need.
